The Campsite.

There is a soft rustling, and out of one of the slightly larger tents, pitched around the clearing, steps Johann, unarmed and unarmoured, carrying his equipment under his arm. He yawns, and speaks to no one in particular.

"Fuck me. Why is the sun so bright already? Erghh.."

Just as he does so, another rustling occurs, this time from a sturdy, well pitched tent. Out rolls a youngish Dwarf, with a thick, light-brown beard, wearing a tough-looking brown tunic, upon which are stains of varying size and colour.

"Aye, anyone up for some grub?" says Glenn.

A large, black object falls from a nearby tree, there lays Sasien. He suddenly awakes, his upper body shoots up to an upright position, and his eyes widen.

"Yes."

He stands, lets out a yawn and stretches.

Glenn laughs, and begins to set up cooking equipment brought from inside his tent.

"You look like ye've been needen' it too! Now, just need to get this fire goin' again, shouldn't be too hard, Hasn't rained by the looks of things."

Johann drops his equipment on a fold up chair outside his tent, and begins to gear up.

"Me too please. Do we have any of that ham left? That was nice..."

"Aye, I'll get some ready."

An angry voice (Lydia's duh...) yells from the tent Johann appeared from then, "Tell that fucking chirping bird that I'm trying to get some fucking sleep!" And then a large groan of annoyance follows the sudden outburst.

Johann laughs.

"...She never was a morning person.."

"Aye. Seems like she'll need summat to eat soon too.."

Hearing Johann's joke, another call comes from the tent "Mornings don't like me! I have a raging hangover, and probably will throw-up any minute now, so I repeat 'shut the fuck up'!"

"Muninn, doh reeksla eepah kumarer, kranzerna..."

Loudly chirping bird on his shoulder, Divah walked about the camp, his pet occasionally hopping onto trees or into bushes, picking small berries and leaves for the elven druid. His words seemed to make the creature quiet as they gathered from the areas nearby the camp. Divah turned to the resident cook with a handful of herbs before he went back to his normal duties.

Edit - what? no-one else is up at 2:30am?

Hans stumbles out of his tent, foot catching on the fabric but he regains his balance.

"What is it with these motherfucking birds in this motherfucking forest? Seriously, can I just shoot the fucker? And why does Lydia keep yelling?"

He notices Glenn preparing food and his stomach roars.

"Okay, i'll shoot it after breakfast."

OOC: One night I have an exam the next day and you decide to stay up nearly as late as I usually do? Bitch.

Out of a large tent steps Edward Williamson. The tent is decorated with the symbol of the Wave Lord. Edward himself is wearing his robes and looks refreshed. Edward talks quietly to avoid disturbing Lydia, who seems angry...

Morning... I heard the call for breakfast... what is it today?

Sasien walks over to the fire and squats beside it, waiting for his breakfast in silence.

Within a matter of seconds, Sasien's plate is empty. He turns towards Glenn.

"Is there any more?"

Lydia emerges from the tent, brushing her hair, trying to locate the stupid bird that woke her up.
Unable to find it she walks towards the fire, grabbing a piece of bacon off of Johann's plate, then sits down to eat it slowly.

"I was going to offer it to you anyway, no need to just stuff it all into your mouth!"

Sasien stands, walks over to the tree where he was sleeping and climbs it.

Some rustling can be heard, followed by Sasien leaping from quite high up, and landing perfectly on his feet, holding a sack.

He quickly recovers, walks over to the fire, sits, opens the sack and takes out a loaf of bread, which he begins to eat.

A while later

"So, erm, are we just going to sit here and eat all day?"

At that moment, there is a faint but deep rumbling sound, and a violent rustling in the bushes at the edge of the clearing. Before the seekers can react, at least 10 black, man-like shapes leap out of them, growling and gnashing with wild teeth. They carry weapons in their clawed hands; spears and clubs and a few swords.

They seem poised to strike, but one of the larger of them steps forward. He carries a tall poleaxe, which he thrust into the ground, where it stuck. He takes a a long, deep inhalation through his wide nose, looking the seekers up and down. He then speaks.

"I am Darkhide of Nightstalker pack. This is our land. Who are you that dares set paw here?"


[NOTE: you are not actually in the Wilds, but in northeast Amrania, by the Tion/Mtn. Dwarf/Amranian borders. No Beastmen have been known this far south in a very long time.]
