The City of Amran

"For now, we're getting the weapons. Stay with the others. When Hans and I return, we move on the Valkur."

Sassa casts an admiring glance at the elf's sword but stays quiet. "Right, distraction team - we should head off first, we can take up position before the others start their assault then. I've a few ideas of what we can do. Did you want enough of a distraction to get yourselves in, or shall we wait til we're needed?"

Cecil looks up sharply.

"I'm ready. Just tell me what to do, and try and keep me away from any fights. I can be a bit... sensitive with that area."

Hilde shakes her head at her disguised friend. "Wait till needed. Getting in shouldn't be a problem." she waves a hand towards the doorway. "After you then, my lady."
Sassa smirks, feigns a quick curtsey, and then walks past the ranger, leading the way for the rest of them.

They split up as they leave the church of the Wind Speaker, Hilde and Hans going on ahead, while Sassa leaves with the others.

It's not long before the place in question is across the street. They watch for a while, then decide to make their move.

Hilde's cloaked figure slips from their hiding place, and strides silently across the gap between them and their destination. Approaching along the side of the building, as suggested by Sassa. Her intelligence proved correct so far. She turns to check Hans is with her before progressing.

Hans takes in the sight of the building, certainly upper-class looking but making a vain attempt to remain fairly non-descript. The signs of wealth are there to the trained eye, the colour of the curtains in the windows, purple, an expensive dye. The pristine whiteness of the servants clothing, another sign. The guards at the front entrance perhaps the most obvious.

"Royal Apartments, Guards Quarters, Servants Area, Vault. Side entrance bypasses the Quarters and Apartments..."

He's running himself through the plan, forming the scenario in his mind.

"This way."

He slips into the alley beside the building, where a pair of servants are on break, callously leaving the door to the kitchens ajar.

"Knock them unconcious, take their clothes, enter the premesis, lie your way past the guards, sleeping draught in food, crack the vault, sneak weapons out under clothing disappear..."

The plan is a quiet mutter only barely on the verge of hearing, but it is there as he tries to stealthily make his way toward the unaware servants.

Close by, Hilde pulls a scarf up over her face, covering everything below her eyes. She takes a cloth from a pouch, and nods to Hans. As they draw near, the idle chatter becomes clear.
"...you should have seen the mess, the master won't be pleased!"
"Ah, there's been worse, it's not like they've not spilled things before."
"I know, but..."

She doesn't give the other a chance to cry out before he suffers a similar fate. Hilde vanishes into the doorway with the unconscious staff, and is relieved to find a small storeroom nearby. Shortly afterwards she reappears, more suitably attired. It's a start, at least.

They progress well, and it isn't long at all before the guards are asleep at their post, as planned. Moving onward down the hall, they find the vault as Sassa had told them, her information was correct. Now to see exactly what lay within, and how best to leave with it.

Hilde checks the doors, they're bolted but not locked. From the orientation, it seems like they'll meet up with an alley outside. Confirming a possible exit, she moves back to the door, and looks inside. She then produces a thick cloth sack, and prepares to wrap the items, so that they are both covered and soundless.

Emerging from shadows into darkness, the narrow alley provides good cover. The package, though holding some weight, is balanced and not particularly awkward. Placing it down for a moment, the doors are replaced gently yet firmly. Retrieving her burden, with a nod she signals she is ready, and also the route they take now. When they are some way away, Hilde is satisfied they are clear. The night is still young, it's time for their next move. She wonders briefly how the others are doing.
