[When I say a long time, I mean beyond the reckoning of the human race... Razz]

Darkhide looks at Hans, a predatory gaze, almost looking through him rather than at him. He snarls.

"DarkHIDE. Darkpaw, my father. Seekers? Seekers have no business here. Tell me of your hunt, or you leave this place. Now."

Darkhide releases a guttural growl, something you presume must be the Beastman equivalent of a sigh.

"This is our land. We may do as we please. We are on hunt. We hunt the bad ones this day. I am not knowing their name in your tongue."

He looks up at the sky, and grunts at the sun.

"They are slower by sun, easier to catch."

Darkhide shakes his head at Hans as if he is stupid.

"Bad ones. Bad ones go into shadow. Come back different. Twisted spirits. Not our tribe then."

Hans's eyes flash in recognition, though it's clear that 'slower-by-day' indicated something else to him

"Darklings. Hellfire, we weren't expecting this."

His hand moves to his gun again instinctively

Darkhide growls at the earth, clearly mildly angered at the question.

"Eh. Were, until we smell Southener blood. Trail is gone cold now. We followed for days, but no wisdom trying to continue now."

He looks around the clearing.

"Here will do." He turns to the other members of the hunting party. "We rest here this moon!"

A lone, hooded figure approaches from out of the East edge of the forest, draped in leathers and bones. At his side rattle to wooden batons with strings of beads, bones and feathers dangling from skull-tipped ends.
"I saw you here before... why you speaking so loud, I have not seen."

After a while, there is a sudden commotion in the forest not to far away from the camp.
Those who might listen hear a shout and an animal's scream.
Then it is quiet.

Darkhide snarls at the bushes, then lets out a long, low-pitched whistle. A few moments pass. From behind the treeline from which the group of Beastfolk appeared, emerges the largest 'normal' wolf you have ever seen. It is as big as a bear, with matted grey and white fur, like ice on stone. It's front legs are heavily muscled, and all four of it's paws seem to be larger than one would expect, even for a beast this size. Silently it pads through the Beastfolk and circles Darkhide briefly, staring at the Seekers with it's intense purple eyes. Darkhide turns to it.

"Cousin Oldblood. Eye the bushes. Bare your teeth, do not..hesitate."

The creature snarls and bares it's teeth at the area where the sound came from, and promtly disappears out of the clearing and into the bushes. Darkhide turns to face the rest of his kin.

"Rest of you, our den is here this moon. Make ready."

They either nod silently or make grunts of approval, and begin to lay furs and collect kindling.

Finally, Darkhide faces the new stranger. He grabs his polearm from the ground and points it at it.

"You. You have no business here."

The deer should have been easy prey, but it was bigger than she'd usually hunt, and voices from the nearby group seemed to have spooked it. As she sprang from her hiding place it had almost bolted right into her, and the collision had made her cry out. However, she had gotten a grip on the animal, and though awkwardly, had taken it down.

The kill had still been fairly swift, but she preferred not to let the prey suffer anymore than needed. She paused, listening, had there been a whistle? Couldn't tell. Having cleaned her blade, Sparkeye thought her next challenge would be getting the offering to the campfire- but no sooner had she sheathed the dagger, she sensed something nearby. Leaping up to the nearest branch she made to hide herself- and her eyes widened as a wolf the size of a bear came into sight.
Where was it from?
Was it hunting?
Was it hungry?
Was she out of reach?

She perched, ready to spring higher if need be, but trying to look calm, her eyes focused but unthreatening.
Knowing it would find her, she shifted her weight slightly, intentionally making a small noise, and hoping not to catch it by surprise.

The great wolf eyes the stranger and adopts a wide and low stance, tilting it's large head, signifying (for the moment) non-hostility, but at the same time, showing it's lack of fear. It sniffs.

Treat all creatures with respect - until you know they deserve otherwise.
Hopeful, and mindful of her father's guidance, Sparkeye descends gently.
"Greetings, Wolf-Father." she says, and bows to the great grey wolf.
It is clearly intelligent, if not openly friendly.
Then, pointing to the fallen stag, "A gift for your kin."
She waits to see understanding.

The wolf turns to the stag and inspects it for a moment, before going back to the stranger. It lifts one forepaw off the ground and lowers it's head, in what could only be the wolfish equivalent of a bow. It then rises and begins to walk back towards the clearing, turning it's head back every few steps to look at the stranger, presumably wanting them to follow.

Satisfied that he is not going to eat her, Sparkeye nods to it as it looks back at her, then grasps the deer by the antlers, so as to drag it into the campsite herself. This proves to be more awkward than she had hoped, as it really is bigger prey than she is used to, being so much more than she would need for just herself. A step at a time she makes a little progress as she follows the great beast. She is filled with a sense of pride however, that this enormous wolf has accepted her presence.

The wolf seems to acknowledge the stranger's struggle and grabs a leg of the stag in it's large jaws, helping to drag it much faster.

With a breath of thanks, the two of them make much better time, and soon arrive at the clearing's edge.
Knowing that her new acquaintance has accepted her gives Sparkeye the extra courage she needs, and with only the slightest hesitation, she continues to work with him, bringing the deer towards the campfire.
Glancing up from her efforts, she spots several figures near the light.
Hopefully this will go as well as her last introduction.

The Beastfolk see the two stag-bearers, and a few help carry the who creature the rest of the way. Taking her for a friend since Oldblood seems to have done so, and she comes bearing a catch, they are not hostile. Since Darkhide is currently occupied with both the seekers and the other stranger, another Beastman steps forward. This one is female, tall and thin, with deep-set eyes of pure black that shine like Onyx gems. She has reddish fur and a head of wild, similarly-coloured hair that spills over her shoulders, along with a single black feather tied at one side. A tall spear crafted similarly to Darkhides is gripped in her 'paw'. She looks the stranger up and down, before speaking.

"I am Sharphowl of the Nightstalkers pack. What is your name and hunt?"

The Direwolf pads away and starts collecting firewood.

With a nod, she responds. "Sparkeye, Swiftclaw's clan."
She straightens herself, and brushes her hair from her face.
The Lynx-kin is slightly shorter than the black-eyed wolf female.
Gesturing to the offering, "A gift to share the fire."
Moving closer to the warmth, she shrugs off her cloak, revealing a patchwork of rough stitched leather armour over the sleek frame beneath. Her visible fur was mostly a dark golden brown, paler around her face and neck, and pointed fur tipped ears poked out of her shortish wild hair. A collection of feathers and bones hang on a leather thong around her neck.

Sharphowl tilts her head from side to side, inspecting Sparkeye from head to foot.
