Hans lets the 'taken care of it' slide, assuming that she's probably brainwashed the Librarian into not letting anyone into the Library.

"Not you specifically, just Vampires in general. Even without being Lords, a conventional Vampire is scary powerful. And I take a personal dislike to being invaded and forced to do things mentally, which I have observed occurring, and may or may not have happened to me. That's in the past of course, but it never hurts to have a trump card should another, less polite vampire try it."

Less polite likely refers to Arran Kur, but it could be any of them.

"Tell me, Syuzannah, how would one go about guarding their mind from a Vampire?"

"Practice would imply I had a semblance of an idea what to do to begin with."

He smirks back and cricks his neck.

"Plus I don't really fancy a nap right now, thank-you."

"That sounds like the product of ritual magic. I hate ritual magic. Has a tendency to screw us all over."

He frowns slightly in recollection of previous events, and a story about an immolated half-werewolf.

"Possibl. Or purrhaps something tu du with magnets." she shrugs. "Buht yeys, well, ay am noht shure eet wurked anyway."
Absently, she picks up her glasses from the table, and begins to clean them with a small cloth.
"Een my expiriens, eef dhe mynd in question ees inhabited by a spirit, dhis can mayk dhem...less purrsuasive."
She looks at the lenses for a moment, and frowns at a speck of dirt. Moving them closer, she breathes on them- but no mist forms.
A small noise of resentment escapes her, and she puts both them, and the cloth down on the table resignedly.

Hans picks up the glasses and the cloth, breathes on the glasses and proceeds to clean the dirt off for her.

"A spirit. That would make sense, I suppose. But I don't really want to share my body with anything less friendly, as spirits often aren't."

"Dwarves. I'll look into it. Might have something to do with their lack of magical aptitude."

He pulls his bottle out of his pocket and sips at the liquid within, passing her her glasses back, the cloth also.

Hans nods.

"The situation was... unconventional. Oddly it's not the first time I've been in that position."

He swigs again.

"Yes, I suppose that might be an idea..."

He gazes off into the shelves, trying to come up with something to say.

"What can you tell me of the Vampire Lords? Aside from their origins. I want to know them, what they're capable of, what they want besides the downfall of the Dark."

His face is serious here, as if he's coming up with some kind of profile or plan. It's a face rarely seen on him but it does give an impression of experience and some undefinable something that seems to shift his personality in a darker way.

Syuzanna knows that he's serious.

She draws closer, and looks into his eyes, her voice lowers.

The magnitude of that eventuality is not lost on Hans, and his eyes narrow in a decidedly venomous fashion. The intent is not directed at Syuzannah, but it is still nonetheless unnerving.

"That will not be happening. Not if I can stop it. But a ritual of that magnitude would require an immense amount of power. Of which, they of course, have access to... dammit, dammit, dammit..."

The gears are quite obviously spinning in his head, trying to find a way to circumvent that kind of power.

Taken slightly aback, yet not at all surprised, she does sit back in the chair.
"Somdhing else dhat bothrs me...ay dohnt know eef ay shuud say...buht- what eef eet was noht onlee...mortaals."
The look on her face suggests she's thinking of something specific, and her eyes flick downward for a moment, before returning.

"Syuzannah, whatever you feel you need to say, I need you to say it. I am not who I was at Sangterre, I have learned things... become someone else. Someone that cannot allow some thing like this to come to pass. I may not be as strong as Johann, or as wily as Seamus, even as tactfully minded as Divah, but the shadows are my ally, in ways not many know. I am not ready for their aid yet, but I will be, and they have shown me who I must be if I am to bring the others back alive."

His face holds a determination not yet seen, and for a moment you could swear the ring on his finger glints in response to his intent. The air becomes heavier for but a moment, not a result of magic but of the atmosphere he is exhuming.

"I will not allow harm to fall upon the citizens of Xenos if it is within my power to defend them. As such, I cannot allow what you hint toward to come to pass. So please, tell me everything, and you may find this old trusting friend has more to him than you'd expect."

His eyes stare at Syuzannah, carrying a force behind them not yet seen from the usually more laid back and easy seeker.

She actually moves the chair back at his words, and when she finds her own, she stumbles over them.
"Hans- Ay- Wat ay meant- Eet iz juhst that." She rubs her forehead with her hand, and hides her face from him.
"Wat eef dhey kan du dhis- tu me?"
Though the words may seem shallow initially, there's quiet resignation, and genuine concern in her tone.

"They can damn well try. I'd spot any discrepancies a mile off, and I'd get it fixed. Minds are not something anyone should be allowed to play with, and especially not when they're allies of mine."

"Help me, Syuzannah, and perhaps once this is all over we can see about that debt you owe. Shackles are not becoming of an Amranian. Especially in death."

His gaze is powerful and piercing, but it also speaks of one who is not to be trifled with lightly.

The Vampire studies him, and looks at him strangely, her expression a confusion of lingering fears, but also respect, and the familiar touch of her natural curiousity in those dark eyes. Though he may not guess it, she also is listening to his heartbeat. It is strong and heavy, and has gained pace in the last few minutes, but it does not race. It sounds...confident.

"Yu arr ryte, Hans Yksin." she says. "Yu are different."

"Perhaps. Perhaps not different enough. But we shall see, Syuzannah, we shall see, if we are to effectively combat whatever is to come."

"So, Magyar Syuzannah, Herald of the Vampire Lords, what can you tell me?"

His gaze is pointed, focused, inquisitive and clearly running through mental plans even as he listens to her.
