Potential Issues

Post  Scribbler on Sun Oct 14, 2012 12:28 am

So, something funny is going on and for reasons best known to itself, my home internet has decided it will not access anything to do with Forumotion.co.uk. This will make my attendance a little awkward. I hope to be solving this problem as quickly as possible, but I'm not sure how long this will take. Just wanted to let you guys know. Neutral

Try turning your router off and on again. one of my IP resets happened to be banned from some sites I like to use.

Or try setting up a proxy.

Tried:
Chrome, IE and Firefox
Cleared caches
Wiped the IP and renewed it
Reset laptop
Reset the router
Reset router to factory
Disabled firewall
Phoning the ISP (They couldn't access it either!)

Worked:
Logging in on someone else's wireless
Hoping it might fix itself

Outcome:
It seems to have magically fixed itself.
I can only assume a wizard did it.
Hurrah!

(Hopefully it stays fixed.)

The error came up again today- but didn't last as long as last time.
Nick suggested I try to use the direct IP address next time, if possible?

From Google somewhere, modified for here:

Go to the command prompt (cmd, konsole, LXTerminal, command etc.) and type:
ping [Only admins are allowed to see this link]

It will give the IP address.
To use the IP in your browser, type [Only admins are allowed to see this link] (that's not the right one, but it will look similar)
