Do you have a flag?

Post  Scribbler on Fri Aug 24, 2012 5:11 am

Or a banner?

Do you want to make one?

If you have any arty crafty projects and need some pointers, please do ask, and I'll try to help out. Smile

For the record, these don't have to be Seekers related but I imagine most of them probably would be.

Well, this isnt a flag, but it is artsy-crafty: I feel like a wax sealing stamp for my next character would be a cool idea, but i dont know how to go about making one. any pointers?

Carve one from wood if you've got the time (and technique)
you could even do one in clay and then fire it (if you have something to fire it)

Or be insane like me and plan to make a forge out of some rail (anvil), a brake disk and some pipes (burny burny Razz ). Then forge a seal out of scrap iron from the inverted shape of the thing you want to make.

Or... just find somewhere to sell them.

Saaaaaaaaam, I wanna make a flag, how do without sewing the shapes onto each other? (i.e: printing onto cloth, on a large scale Neutral )

Sean

Wax sealing stamp.
Wood is perfectly workable, but you'd need something to seal the surface with so the wax doesn't stick.
Air drying clay, potentially easier to work, same as above.
Casting your own metal seal is awkward and needs specific things.
Simple alternative - find something you like and use that as the seal. Keyring, embossed button, etc.
Edit: I found [Only admins are allowed to see this link] Looks pretty convincing to me.

Will

Stitch free flag designs.
There's this iron on stuff called bondaweb which is basically double-sided tape for fabric.
You don't have to have specific fabric paints to paint on fabric- acrylic paints are great for this kind of thing. Just make sure you water them down a little bit, and that the fabric is at least a cotton blend if not 100% cotton. Most polyester fabrics really don't agree with being painted. Alternatively you can use fabric dyes - again, cotton fabric required.

Hm, not sure yet. Maybe Syuzie, maybe someone else.
Not for Sparkeye that's for sure, far too neat and tidy.
Plus she doesn't exist, obviously.
